As an IBC Centre Assistant Volunteer within our Isabel Blackman Centre (IBC), you will be a key part of the team in assisting with welcoming participants, providing reception cover, supporting our restaurant team, leading sessions (where appropriate), helping to set up and close down the activity rooms, undertaking general administration duties, and assisting with day-to-day operations. You will have a sociable attitude, be reliable, and honest, you will love to work within a brilliant team of volunteers and provide excellent customer service. Affordable leisure and recreational facilities are essential for an older person’s well-being. It’s important to us that we provide a warm, affordable, and enjoyable place for our clients and visitors to learn something new, socialise, and keep fit. The Isabel Blackman Centre (IBC) provides a restaurant, leisure facilities, activities and events space, treatment rooms, and a community shop within the heart of the Old Town, Hastings. The time commitment required is usually a minimum of one shift per week, but we’re also happy to have more flexible times. A shift could be either a morning, afternoon, or whole day. We are open Monday to Sunday. We’ll provide all the training and support that you need and will also reimburse the cost of any reasonably incurred out-of-pocket travelling expenses.
